Lewisburg runners lead Hickory Flat cross country invitational

Lewisburg cross country runners won individual championships in the Hickory Flat Invitational meet on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Winning the boys’ Class 4A-7A division was Jackson Dickerson of Lewisburg, running the 5,000 meters in a time of 17:29.18. Taking first place in the girls’ Class 4A-7A division was Kaydi Blanchard of Lewisburg in the time of 20:33.02.

Runners from Olive Branch and Center Hill also took part in the meet.

The top Olive Branch boys’ finish was Preston Mundy, who was eighth in a time of 18:58.98. The top finisher from Center Hill for boys was Jared Smalley, who took 22nd place in a clocking of 19:57.42.

For girls, Olive Branch was paced by Maykyn Johnson, who was 26th overall in a time of 25:16.32. The best Center Hill girls’ finish came from Maggie Linville, who was ninth overall in a time of 22:34.77.
