Hustle’s Lofton Jr. named to all-G League first team, rookie team

The NBA G League announced that Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Kenneth Lofton Jr. was named to the 2022-23 All-NBA G League First Team and NBA G League All-Rookie Team as a member of the Memphis Hustle.
The 2022-23 KIA NBA G League Rookie of the Year, Lofton Jr. appeared in 17 games (15 starts) for the Hustle during the regular season and averaged 20.2 points per game, 10.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 steals in 28.5 minutes while shooting 54.1 percent from the field.
Lofton Jr. was the NBA G League’s only rookie (and one of only two players) to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds during the regular season. He finished ninth among rookies in scoring (min. 10 games) and first among rookies in rebounding.
The 20-year-old scored at least 20 points in eight games and reached 30 points twice, tallying a career-high 33 points on Feb. 3 vs. Delaware. He notched 10 double-doubles during the regular season and secured a triple-double with 20 points, 15 rebounds and a career-high 11 assists on Feb. 7 vs. Birmingham.
Lofton Jr. was named to the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars as a member of the NBA G League team and participated in the NBA G League NEXT Up game as part of NBA All-Star Weekend 2023.
Undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft following his sophomore year at Louisiana Tech, Lofton Jr. signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies on July 2. He signed a multi-year contract with the Grizzlies on April 8.
