Hustle open road trip with win over Clippers

The Ontario Clippers (16-13), the NBA G League affiliate of the L.A. Clippers fell to the Memphis Hustle (21-7) 108-101 on Monday night, March 20. 

Six Clippers recorded double-digit scoring, led by Xavier Moon, who ended the night with 21 points (10-20 FG, 1-5 3PT), four rebounds, and five assists. Bryson Williams added 17 points and eight rebounds.

Matt Hurt led all scorers with a game-high 25 points (10-16 FG, 2-4 3PT) for the Hustle. Ziaire Williams added a 20-point, 10-rebound double double.

Down 10 at the half, Ontario shot 56 percent (14-25 FG) in the third quarter and outscored Memphis 34-19 to take a five-point lead into the final frame. The Clippers cooled down dramatically in the fourth, shooting only 29.4 percent (5-17 FG) from the field, and watched as the Hustle shot 55 percent (11-20) to regain the advantage and seal the victory.

Next up, the Clippers look to even the two-game series and make a final playoff push in a rematch against the Hustle on Wednesday, March 22. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. Pacific time inside the Toyota Arena.
