Hustle end road trip with loss to Osceola Magic
The Memphis Hustle (1-4) were defeated 125-116 by the Osceola Magic (2-2) to wrap up a three-game road trip on Friday, Nov. 17 in Kissimmee, Florida.
Two-way transfer GG Jackson II secured his first double-double of the season to lead the Hustle, scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. Jason Preston tallied 17 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. Adonis Arms added 17 points and seven rebounds. David Johnson contributed 12 points off the bench. Mychal Mulder finished with 13 points, while Loudon Love scored 11 points as all Hustle starters scored in double figures.
Mac McClung led the Magic scoring 44 points and six rebounds. On a two-way transfer from the Magic, Trevelin Queen tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Williams finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Miye Oni contributed 11 points and five rebounds. Daeqwon Plowden added 10 points and three steals off the bench.
The Hustle scored a season-high 75 points in the first half and led by 11 at the halftime break. The Hustle scored the first 12 points of the third quarter as part of a 20-5 run to push their lead up to 26, but the Magic responded with a 37-11 run to tie the game in the fourth quarter. The Magic closed the game with a 14-2 run to secure the victory.
The Magic outscored the Hustle 44-16 in the fourth quarter, with McClung scoring 18 points in the quarter. Osceola shot 59.3 percent from the floor in the final frame, including five makes from beyond the arc. The Hustle knocked down a season-high 17 3-pointers in the loss.
The Hustle return home to the Landers Center in Southaven for a back-to-back against the Mexico City Capitanes, starting Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m.
