Hustle assignees shine in win over Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Blue (7-13) was defeated by the Memphis Hustle (13-5), 133-113, on Monday afternoon at Paycom Center. Thunder assignment player Tre Mann scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out six assists in the loss.

“I thought we competed and played hard,” Head Coach Kameron Woods said. “We are excited for the chance to play them again on Wednesday.”

The Hustle held a 30-28 lead after a first quarter of play that featured seven lead changes. Despite the Blue connecting on 52.6 percent of its field goal attempts in the second quarter, the Hustle extended its lead to 58-50 at the break. After falling behind by as many as 22 in the second half, the Blue cut the lead to just seven with 9:20 remaining in regulation, but the comeback fell short.

Thunder assignment player Ousmane Dieng scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds while teammate and two-way player Olivier Sarr scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds. Jahmi’us Ramsey came off the bench to add 20 points on 8-of-14 FGs.

David Roddy posted a game-high 29 points on 10-of-20 FGs to lead the way for the Hustle. Teammate Ziaire Williams added 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Next up, Oklahoma City and Memphis face off at 12 noon Central time, on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Paycom Center to complete the two-game series.
