Hustle acquire Colby Jones in trade with Motor City Cruise
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Hustle announced Wednesday that the team has acquired wing Colby Jones from the Motor City Cruise. In exchange, the Hustle traded their 2026 first-round draft pick to the Cruise.
In a corresponding roster move, Memphis waived wing Paul Zilinskas.
A Versatile Addition to the Rotation
Jones, a 6-foot-6, 207-pound wing, brings significant G League experience and NBA pedigree to the Hustle lineup. Over three seasons with the Motor City Cruise, Capital City Go-Go, and Stockton Kings, the 23-year-old has averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Jones has proven to be an efficient perimeter threat, shooting 36.6 percent from 3-point range across 45 career G League appearances.
NBA and Collegiate Pedigree
Originally selected 34th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Jones has appeared in 70 NBA games as a reserve for the Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, and Sacramento Kings. During his collegiate career at Xavier, he rose to national prominence by leading the Musketeers to the 2022 NIT Tournament Championship, where he earned NIT MVP honors.
Roster Changes
To make room for Jones, the Hustle parted ways with Paul Zilinskas. The 6-foot-6 wing appeared in 12 games for Memphis this season, averaging 6.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per contest. Zilinskas joined the team after going unselected in the 2025 NBA Draft.
