Dizzy Dean World Series held in Southaven

June 29, 2025 – Southaven was again host to the 2025 Dizzy Dean Baseball and Softball World Series this weekend at Snowden Grove and Greenbrook Park diamonds.

Over 100 teams of all ages were competing for championships. They came from across the Southeastern United States, as well as locally.

The youth baseball program, similar to Little League, is found primarily in the Southeast. Its namesake is the legendary pitcher Jay Hanna “Dizzy” Dean, born in Lucas, Arkansas in 1910. Dean was best known for his personality, dominating pitching, and his later career as a broadcaster.
