Center Hill, Lewisburg chase titles today; Hernando visits Tupelo

Center Hill and Lewisburg play for state volleyball championships Thursday, giving DeSoto County two title matches in one afternoon and evening at A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton. Hernando football also takes the field tonight at Tupelo, ahead of Friday’s three county football matchups and the opening day of state swimming.

No Wednesday, October 14, county varsity final was verified by press time. The next posted competition for each known boys and girls varsity team follows, including winter and spring schedules. All times are Mississippi local time; baseball and softball dates are in 2027.

Volleyball

Center Hill meets Hancock today, October 15, at 2 p.m. for the Class 6A girls volleyball championship. Lewisburg faces Ocean Springs at 6 p.m. for the Class 7A title. The MHSAA lists both matches at Mississippi Christian University’s A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton.

Northpoint Christian’s next match is at home Saturday, October 17, against Battle Ground Academy in the Division II-A state quarterfinals. The governing association’s bracket identifies the opponent and home team but gives no start time.
