DeSoto Central claims state girls’ golf championship

Oct. 22, 2024 – DeSoto Central is your MHSAA 7A state girls’ golf champion.

The pair of Esther Kim and Bella McNeil took the title by one shot over Northwest Rankin, 308-309. Lewisburg finished in a tie for third with Madison Central at 313 for the 36-hole event.

Among individuals, Kaylee Gatlin of Germantown (Madison) was the individual medalist at 146, two shots better than Sasha Challagolia of Starkville.
Kim shot a 153 total to finish eighth and McNeil was close bhind at 155 for a ninth place tie.

Avery Savage had Lewisburg’s best individual score as she tied McNeil for ninth place at 155.

Madison Central hosted the tournament at the Patrick Farms course.
