Battle of the Borders pits Mississippi vs. Tennessee

UPDATED WITH CHANGE IN SCHEDULE

A full day of top-flight boys basketball is set for Olive Branch High School and Charlie Bibbs Gymnasium on Tuesday, Nov. 21 when the first Battle of the Borders takes place inside.

Olive Branch coach Eric Rombaugh said local teams will travel away from home a lot of times for events like this during the holidays, but Battle of the Borders brings top teams to DeSoto County. The Memphis metropolitan area is home to some of the best boys basketball around. Teams that will come in and play on Tuesday will get to challenge themselves against some of that high level of high school hoops.

Rombaugh added there is also the opportunity for bragging rights because the pairings will all be Mississippi vs. Tennessee teams.

Courtroom Hoops is the presenting sponsor for the event, which will begin at 12 noon Tuesday with Southaven playing Hamilton and ending when host Olive Branch plays Houston.

In between, Columbus, Horn Lake, Center Hill and Starkville of Mississippi will take on Providence Christian Academy (Murfreesboro, Tenn.), Memphis East, Fayette Ware, and St. George’s of Collierville.

Following is the complete schedule for the day on Tuesday:
