Trial for Lindsey Whiteside delayed again

The federal trial for Lindsey Whiteside, a former youth pastor and coach accused in a case involving a minor, has been pushed back again, with the latest trial date now set for Aug. 3, 2026.

Whiteside was previously awaiting trial on federal charges that she transported a minor across state lines. A February report from DeSoto County News said her trial had already been rescheduled for April 20 after multiple delays tied to attorney scheduling conflicts and storm-related disruptions. The report also noted that a federal judge had revoked Whiteside’s bond, leaving her in federal custody while the case continued through court.

The case has drawn attention across DeSoto County and the Mid-South. DeSoto County News reported that Whiteside had also received three years of house arrest in a related state case, and that the DeSoto County District Attorney sought resentencing, arguing the punishment did not reflect the severity of the offense.

The latest delay moves the federal trial to Aug. 3, 2026. DeSoto County News previously reported that additional filings or motions could shift the case timeline again as prosecutors and defense attorneys continued preparing for trial.
