Town Hall in Southaven to spotlight national issues 

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — Indivisible DeSoto MS will host a “What’s Happening in America” town hall on Saturday, Jan. 31, bringing together legal, civil rights, and national security experts for a public discussion on key issues facing the country. The event begins at 11 a.m. at Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Ranger Community Center, 1210 Church Road West in Southaven. Admission is free, and doors open at 10:30 a.m. 

The program will feature three speakers: 

Joanne Irene Gabrynowicz, Esq., Professor of Law, Emerita, will address allegations of criminal activity involving the current administration. 

Jarvis Dortch, Esq., executive director of the ACLU of Mississippi, will discuss concerns surrounding the erosion of civil rights. 

Jamie Barnett, Esq., retired U.S. Navy rear admiral, who will speak on national security challenges. 

Attendees may submit written questions to the panel. A reception will follow the town hall for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Scott Colom and Democratic U.S. House District 1 candidate Cliff Johnson, both endorsed by Indivisible DeSoto MS.
