Suspect caught after robbery incident in Olive Branch

July 1 – Olive Branch Police say officers responded to a robbery call from the Olive Branch City about 6:15 a.m. this morning and later captured the suspect in the case.

When they arrived, officers learned from the victim a detailed description of a suspect in the case, the vehicle he left in, and the direction of travel.

The vehicle was located and a pursuit began until the vehicle was wrecked in the area of 9815 Goodman Road.

Rakeem Jaquise Woodley, age 26, of 6873 Dogwood Manor West, was taken into custody and charged with allegedly being involved in robbery, motor vehicle felony taking, and other lesser charges in connection with the incident.

In addition, police learned that Woodley has prior felony arrests in his home state of Wisconsin.

Police said they will be seeking the maximum penalty in connection with the incident because the victim was led by the suspect to believe a life was in danger, although no weapon was seen when the alleged incident took place.
