Supervisors, aldermen set to meet on Tuesday
Links and highlights to the week’s governmental meetings on Feb. 21 are found here. The Board of Supervisors typically meets on Mondays, but will meet Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m. due to the President’s Day holiday. Municipal Board of Aldermen meets are on Tuesdays, starting at 6 p.m. in Southaven, Hernando and Horn Lake; 6:30 p.m. at Olive Branch.
DeSoto County Board of Supervisors – Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 9 a.m.
Board action will include the appointment of a Nesbit Fire Commissioner, an update of Driving DeSoto Day after the announcement of Gov. Tate Reeves’ proposal for I-55 widening from Goodman to Church roads, and an update of broadband. Supervisors will meet Tuesday morning, Feb. 21, at 9 a.m. instead of the normal Monday date due to the President’s Day holiday being on Monday.
Southaven Board of Aldermen – Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
Board action will include approval of a planned unit development called the Top of ‘Sip, 16 acres on the west side of Snowden Lane and north of May Blvd., and another planned unit development for 12 acres named Crossover. Aldermen will address a resolution the City Wrecker Rotation.

Horn Lake Board of Aldermen – Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
There will be a discussion about No Parking signs on Wallace Lane and a proclamation of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church Day. Five planning commission items will be considered.
Hernando Board of Aldermen – Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m.
Hernando aldermen will discuss a garbage contract and will also discuss or amend subdivision regulations to include a universal street sign regulation. Six planning commission items will be considered, including an appeal of a commission decision regarding a Wade Inc. fence variance request for a variance of the allowable material of fence at the property on Commerce Street west of Scott Road.
Olive Branch Board of Aldermen – Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Several consent agenda items and planning commission items are to be considered.
Executive session items include consideration of new hires in the Ambulance, Concession, Court, Sanitation, and Water Maintenance departments.
