Southern Wire Corporation bomb threat

June 3, 2025 – Olive Branch police and fire, along with representatives of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI were called out to Southern Wire Corporation Tuesday morning on a report of a possible bomb.  

Emergency Communications received a call about 9:15 a.m. of a possible explosive device on the loading dock of the business, located at 8045 Metro Drive off DeSoto Road. 

Personnel from the Olive Branch Fire and Police Departments evacuated the area and constructed a safety perimeter. 

Assisted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, a robot was used to approach the device and disable it safely. The business was searched thoroughly and later cleared. The safety perimeter is clear now as well. 

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
