Southaven police detain one regarding isolated shooting incident

Aug. 20, 2025 – Southaven police officers are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the Burton Lane area for what authorities described as an “isolated shooting.” The victim was transported to Regional One Health for medical treatment. Their condition is not currently known.

One person of interest has been detained, and police stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. The scene remains active, and authorities are asking people to avoid the area.
