Southaven man sentenced for child pornography possession
Oct. 22, 2024 – It was announced that Neal Truitt, Jr., a 33-year old Southaven man, has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for the possession of child pornography.
He pleaded guilty to the possession of child pornography last Thursday.
In addition to the 10 years in state prison, Truitt, Jr. will also be sentenced to 10 years post release supervision, will be required to register as a sex offender wherever he resides, is employed, attends school, or is a temporary resident, for the remainder of his life.
“My office will not tolerate such depravity, and we will fight fiercely against any form of child exploitation,” said District Attorney Matthew Barton. “Truitt will now have to answer to the despicable crime that he committed.”
This case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gordon Shaw and investigated by the Southaven Police Department.
