July 17, 2025 – A Southaven man has been arrested on charges related to the discovery of child pornography in his possession.
Working on a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children regarding child pornography images in the city, investigators were able identify the origin of the images and its location, being in the 8000 block of Chesterfield Drive. The investigation identified John Pummill, age 59 of Southaven, as the suspect.

Pummill was arrested and booked into the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center in Hernando on possession of child pornography charges.
John Pummill remains in the DeSoto County Jail with no bond. He has a July 23 court date set in his case.
