Primary election day

Aug. 5, 2025 – Here are the sample ballots for today’s special Senate primary election involving districts in DeSoto County. Registered voters need to be aware of what district they are in because it may have changed with redistricting and also be aware of the party. Your party’s candidate may not have had a primary because the only candidate in that party went unopposed and has advanced to the Nov. 4 general election. For that reason there is no primary in Senate District 19 because both party candidates had no challengers in the primary elections.

Polls are open today from 7 a.m.-7 p.m..

If you have any questions, call the DeSoto County Circuit Clerk’s office at 662-469-8007 or visit the DeSoto County Government website’s Elections Page.

On Monday, the Circuit Clerk’s Office reported that there were a total of 620 absentee ballots cast.

  • 593 were Republican
  • 27 were Democrat
