Panola County officials warn of severe storms, high winds and freeze
Panola County officials warned in a morning advisory that a line of severe thunderstorms expected this evening could bring winds exceeding 70 mph, large hail and possible tornadoes.
Officials said sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph, with stronger gusts, are expected throughout the day.
The advisory estimated the storm line would move into the area around 5 p.m. and urged residents to secure loose outdoor items and prepare for possible power outages.
Officials said temperatures are expected to fall below freezing early the following morning and urged residents to stay updated and vigilant.
