Pair caught, third escaped after stolen car seen on I-69

Two suspects have been caught but a third is still being sought after a stolen car they were in rammed a DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department deputy’s vehicle Friday. 

The incident was in the area of I-69 and Fogg Road northwest of Hernando. 

According to the Sheriff’s Department, the car was stolen out of Memphis and three suspects were inside the vehicle. They rammed the deputy’s squad car and the trio then fled the scene.  

K-9 and aviation units were used to assist in searching the area. One suspect was apprehended a short time after the incident and a second suspect was later caught.  The third suspect was still at large as of late Friday night.  

According to officials, assault rifles, handguns and ski masks were found inside the stolen car. The deputy in the vehicle that was rammed was expected to be OK.  

No further information was immediately available.  This story will be updated as more information is made available.
