Olive Branch police show Taser training to Citizens’ Police Academy

The Olive Branch Police Department said its Citizens’ Police Academy Class 33 continued last Thursday with a session focused on school resource officers and Taser use.

School Resource Officers Tekendria Rice and Kristan Bass led the session and discussed the role of the SRO division in protecting schools and building relationships with students and the community, the department said.

Major Carl Glass gave a presentation on Taser deployment and its effects. Several participants volunteered to experience a Taser firsthand, the department said.

The department thanked Abby’s for providing dinner and acknowledged Mayor Ken Adams and the City of Olive Branch, according to the department’s post.
