Olive Branch officials warn of supercell storms; 2-inch hail possible
Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams and the Olive Branch Police and Fire departments warned in a March 9 bulletin that strong to severe storms could affect DeSoto County and produce hail larger than 2 inches in diameter.
The bulletin said the primary threat is a supercell environment that could produce large hail. It added that secondary threats include damaging winds and a very low threat of tornadoes.
Officials said the risk is expected between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. and urged residents to remain weather aware.
The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and DeSoto County Government also posted the weather update, the bulletin said.
