Olive Branch Mayor’s Youth Council leads City Park cleanup

The Olive Branch Mayor’s Youth Council hosted a Community Clean Up Day at City Park, the City of Olive Branch said in a social media post. Sixty-eight volunteers from Interact, the National Honor Society, the Youth Council and Connect Church took part, the post said.

The city said it provides complimentary orange litter pick-up bags, gloves and other supplies to residents. The kits are available free to residents and groups that pledge to clean a section of road, an intersection or a neighborhood any time of year, the post said.

Residents, businesses, schools and homeowner associations interested in organizing a cleanup are asked to fill out a form at www.obms.us/cleanupday, the city said. The post said all completed forms will be issued a cleanup kit.

The city said businesses and other entities that commit to cleaning their areas will receive a complimentary decal marking them as community partners in the city’s litter-reduction efforts. The post was signed by Mayor Ken Adams, and the city thanked volunteers for their participation, it added.
