Olive Branch car jacking nets four arrests
Four teenagers are under arrest in an Olive Branch carjacking incident on Thursday, June 19.
Police said they responded to a call of a carjacking on Chateau Drive shortly after 3 p.m. The department later alerted the public to a large police presence near the Fairfield Inn and Suites at the intersection of Hacks Cross and state Highway 302.
The vehicle and a lone suspect were then encountered in the area of Hack Cross and Nichols Boulevard. The suspect left the vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but he was located moments later in a commercial dumpster near the area of Old Goodman Road and state Highway 302. That’s where he was taken into custody without further incident.
On later investigation, accomplices were determined and also taken into custody.
They have been identified as:
- Amirian Jones, 17, of Dupree Drive, Olive Branch (Charge: Armed Car Jacking)
- Martavious Mitchell, 17, of Chateau Drive, Olive Branch (Charge: Armed Car Jacking)
- Mario Northern, 18, of Chateau Drive, Olive Branch (Charge: Armed Car Jacking)
Police say the alleged victim of the car jacking was also taken into custody. Deunte Green, age 18 of Carrie Brook Drive in Olive Branch, was also apprehended and charged with possession of a controlled substance with an intent to distribute. DeSoto County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the arrests.
