Olive Branch aldermen approve voluntary annexation

The City of Olive Branch at its Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday voted to move forward with a voluntary annexation request.  Property owners of about 290 undeveloped acres located near Methodist Hospital Drive and Bethel Road made the request requesting city services.

Aldermen at their July 15 meeting voted to move forward on the landowners’ request for annexation, which if approved by Chancery Court, will mean the landowners will pay costs to connect to City utilities.

The issue was discussed during executive session, according to Mayor Ken Adams, who added the annexation request was voted on when the Board returned to regular session.

Following is the map of the land the City of Olive Branch has been requested to annex.
