Northwest Mississippi Community College hosts Centennial Kickoff Celebration

Northwest Mississippi Community College hosted its Centennial Kickoff Celebration with students, employees, board members, alumni, community members and government officials, the college said. Gov. Tate Reeves congratulated Northwest on its accomplishments and declared Sept. 8 as Northwest Day in Mississippi during the event.

After the celebration, Dr. Heindl and the family of Northwest icon Dean McCormick unveiled McCormick’s portrait. Dr. Brad Smith then unveiled a historic marker that will be displayed at the Senatobia campus entrance. Attendees later gathered in the R.C. Pugh Library for a reception featuring exhibitions throughout the building.
