Justice Pope, a recent graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College from Pope, Mississippi, credits her success to her advisor and campus involvement.
During her time at Northwest, Pope majored in elementary education and held multiple leadership roles. She served as a Pathfinder, Student Government Association treasurer, Gamma Beta Phi member, resident assistant, student representative for the Student Services Council, and orientation leader.
Pope praised her advisor, Emily Davis, for her support. She said Davis helped her find tutoring resources, navigate a major change, and stay motivated. “I am forever grateful to have her as an advisor, and I will truly miss her,” Pope said.
She also encouraged incoming students to ask questions and communicate with their advisors. “Your advisor is there to make your transition the best it can be, and you’ll always want them in your corner,” she added.
Northwest Mississippi Community College reminded students they still have time to plan for the fall semester and urged them to meet with their advisors to prepare for their academic futures.
