North Mississippi players strike gold with lottery wins in Southaven and Olive Branch

JACKSON, Miss. – It is a banner month for lottery players in DeSoto County, as major wins in Southaven and Olive Branch lead a wave of high-stakes payouts across the state. Following the Mississippi Lottery’s 2nd Chance promotional drawings held Tuesday, Jan. 13, a Southaven player officially secured a massive $200,000 prize.

The Southaven winner claimed the top prize for the “$200,000 Jackpot” scratch-off game. The lucky ticket was originally purchased at Time Saver on Goodman Road in Horn Lake.

This 2nd Chance win adds to the momentum started earlier this month in Olive Branch, where a player hit a staggering $500,000 top prize on a “$100 Million Extravaganza” ticket. That winning ticket was sold at Campcreek Food & Fuel Inc. These two North Mississippi wins represent the largest individual payouts in a month that has already seen the lottery award nearly $1 million through promotional drawings alone.

January’s Winning Streak Across Mississippi

The Jan. 13 drawings awarded a total of $945,000 to 12 different players who turned non-winning scratch-off tickets into major cash. While DeSoto County took the spotlight, other significant winners include:

  • $200,000: A Hazlehurst player (purchased at Gallman Truck Stop).
  • $200,000: A Pearl player (purchased at Sprint Mart #107).
  • $100,000: A Starkville player (purchased at Down the Hatch).
  • $100,000: A Jackson player (purchased at Byram Chevron).

Additional prizes ranging from $5,000 to $40,000 were awarded to players in Louisville, Corinth, Clinton, Houston, Gulfport, and Purvis.

Don’t Toss Your Tickets

Mississippi Lottery officials remind players that “losing” tickets may still have value. By entering non-winning scratch-offs at mslottery.com/2nd-chance, players remain eligible for future promotional drawings. The next round of 2nd Chance drawings is scheduled for April 9,
