Microsoft to End Support for Windows Server 2016 in 2027

Microsoft will cease support for Windows Server 2016 on Jan. 12, 2027, according to the company. After that date, the operating system will no longer receive security updates or bug fixes.

The end of support could leave businesses vulnerable to security threats if they do not upgrade in time, experts warn. Companies still using Windows Server 2016 are advised to plan their migration to newer versions before the deadline.

IT departments should assess their infrastructure and develop a migration strategy to ensure continuity and security. Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows Server 2019 or newer versions to stay supported and protected.

As the deadline approaches, businesses are encouraged to consult with IT professionals to manage the transition smoothly and avoid potential disruptions.
