Man hospitalized in Southaven shooting; two individuals detained
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Southaven Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday on Elmbrook Drive, which left one man hospitalized.
Officers were dispatched to the scene in reference to the shooting and, upon arrival, located one male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police provided immediate life-saving measures until the individual could be transported to Regional One for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that two individuals have been detained in connection with the incident.
Police and fire personnel were processing the scene at late morning.
In a statement, the Southaven Police Department emphasized that this was an isolated incident and assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
