Horn Lake shooting victim in critical condition, arrest made
June 26, 2025 – Horn Lake police have made an arrest as the department investigates a mid-day shooting incident that has left the victim in critical condition.
The call came shortly before noon Thursday and had officers sent to the 5600 block of West Avalon Drive. On arrival, officers found an 18-year-old male with at least one gunshot wound to the chest. The unidentified victim was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis, where he was listed in critical condition.
Witnesses provided a description of the lone suspect shooter, who had left the scene after the disturbance. A man who matched the suspect’s description was later located and detained in the area of Nail Road and Kentwood Drive. He has now been placed under arrest and was identified as Jaquillna Twilley of Lambert. Twilley is charged with aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
