Hernando Water Tower Festival returns Sept. 27

HERNANDO, Miss. – The Hernando Water Tower Festival is set to return to the historic downtown square on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring more than 140 vendors, a variety of food trucks, and an expanded Kidz Zone.

Hosted by the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce, the annual event is one of the city’s biggest festivals, drawing families, shoppers, and visitors to the courthouse square.

Attendees can browse booths filled with arts and crafts, including paintings, pottery, jewelry, woodworking, leather goods, clothing, and crochet items. Business vendors will also be on hand to showcase products and services.

Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy at Panola Street Eats, the returning food truck alley that will feature 15 vendors. The lineup includes fair food, tacos, pizza, Asian specialties, desserts, and more, with seating areas set up for visitors to relax and eat.

For children, the Water Tower Tikes Kidz Zone will return with new features. Sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County, the area will include carnival games, inflatables, face painting, and the newly added Touch-A-Truck event.

“The Water Tower Festival is a day where families can enjoy shopping, food, and fun activities all in one place,” organizers said. “It’s truly a community tradition.”

Pets are welcome, and festival organizers encourage visitors to bring the whole family for a day in downtown Hernando.

The Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce, which represents nearly 350 businesses, organizes the festival as part of its mission to promote local commerce and community growth.
