Getwell Road portion closed for bridge construction

Drivers in one part of DeSoto County will have to readjust their travel habits starting Tuesday, Nov. 19.

DeSoto County officials are announcing a road closure of Getwell Road between Slocum and Cleveland roads. The closure will be in effect from Tuesday and will continue into next summer. The roadway is being closed for a bridge replacement project at Grays Creek and completion of the project will depend on weather and other factors.

The detour, which will be clearly marked, officials say, will run along Slocum, McIngvale, Jaybird, and Holly Springs roads.
