Easter weekend in DeSoto County

With Easter quickly approaching, many local businesses and organizations are hosting a weekend full of family-fun events. Easter egg hunts, open houses, and pictures with the Easter Bunny will surely provide entertainment for the entire family.
Easter Egg Hunts
Starting off, the Northwest Mississippi Community College and Ole Miss DeSoto Campus held Easter Fest on Tuesday between 5-6:30 p.m. There were pictures with the Easter bunny, crafts, and Easter egg hunts, and a magic show by Magic Mr. Nick.
Families then made their way to Chick-Fil-A Southaven to see a live bunny and goats for their weekly kid’s night event. A free kid’s meal was included with an adult purchase.
Cedar Hill Farms is inviting families through Saturday for Easter egg hunts. On the farm, there will also be pony riding, a petting zoo, and face painting. Tickets are available here.
On Friday, March 29, the M.R. Davis Public Library will host an Easter egg hunt at 2:00 p.m. Crafts will be available inside as well.
The City of Southaven will join in the fun by hosting an Easter egg hunt on Saturday at Snowden Grove Park. The event will last between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 11:15.
Southern Thunder Harley-Davidson will host an event between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday as well. There will be an Easter egg Hunt and photos with the Easter biker bunny.
Other Local Events
Silo Square is hosting their Eggstravaganza, allowing guests to sip, shop, and stroll on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be 4 Silo Square golden eggs for guests to find and earn a $100 gift card.
Saturday, Hernando Main St. Chamber of Commerce will also host an Easter Shopping Eggstravaganza from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the historic courthouse square.
Moore’s Financial Group is inviting families to paint easter eggs on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Finally, Bonne Terre is hosting an Easter Brunch on Sunday with two Easter egg hunts. To learn more and purchase tickets, click here.
Church Services
According to DeSoto County Economic Development, there are more than 130 churches representing over 20 denominations. There is a house of worship for everyone to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus.
Most local churches will have multiple service times. Some churches hosting Easter services include Southpoint Church, Passion Church, DeSoto Hills Baptist Church, Colonial Hills Church, Cornerstone Church, Compel Church, Trinity Baptist Church, Brown Missionary Baptist Church, St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Longview Point Baptist Church, and many more.
