‘DeSoto Crime Cast’ podcast to discuss public safety in DeSoto County
Welcome to the world of podcasting for the DeSoto County District Attorney’s office, which Thursday, March 28 announced it has started what they have titled, “DeSoto Crime Cast.”
Through the podcast, District Attorney Matthew Barton will give residents an inside look into the agency and what they and their partners in law enforcement are doing to keep families safe.
The first episode is titled “Welcome to DeSoto Crime Cast” and went live on Thursday, March 28. It features District Attorney Matthew Barton, who discusses what prepared him for his role as District Attorney, his vision, and the recent Kyle Dodson trial. The podcast will give listeners an inside look at the operations of the office and what goes into prosecuting violent criminals.
“During my campaign, I realized a lot of people don’t know what the District Attorney does and the critical part they play in law enforcement,” Barton said. “With ‘DeSoto Crime Cast’, we can speak directly to our residents about the intricacies that go into prosecuting criminals and the part our office plays in public safety.“
Topics will focus on public safety and the work being done by law enforcement to keep the county and cities safe to live, work and raise a family. It will also help raise awareness surrounding public safety, feature crime fighting guest speakers, and promote other agencies and nonprofits who support victims of crime.
