DeSoto County Soil and Water Conservation District to host annual tree giveaway at new location
NESBIT, Miss. — The DeSoto County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its Annual Public Tree Giveaway on Thursday, Feb. 12, offering residents free trees and shrubs while supplies last.
The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to noon and will take place at a new location this year: the DeSoto County Agri-Education Arena, located at 1170 Starlanding Road West in Nesbit.
Organizers said residents may choose from 20 different species of trees and shrubs, including a mix of native hardwoods, flowering trees and ornamental plants. All trees are provided free of charge for personal use, though availability is limited per species and per person.
Officials encouraged attendees to arrive early, as quantities are limited and distribution will continue only while supplies last. A complete list of available species is included on the event flyer.

The annual giveaway is intended to promote conservation, reforestation and responsible land stewardship throughout DeSoto County.
