DeSoto County schedules spring cleanup April 10-19
DeSoto County Government said the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors has set a spring cleanup from April 10 through April 19, with dumpsters placed at multiple locations across the county.
Dumpsters will be available for nine days at sites listed by county officials, including Lewisburg Primary, 1707 Craft Road N.; Love Fire Department, 7345 Highway 51 South; Nesbit Water Association, 901 Pleasant Hill Road; Summershill Fire Department No. 1, 7600 Pleasant Hill Road; Robertson-Donald Park, 7369 Highway 301 N.; Hernando Intermediate School, 700 Dilworth; Horn Lake Middle School, 6125 Hurt Road; Cockrum Old Schoolhouse, 3960 Highway 305 South; Fairhaven Fire Department, 13701 Centerhill Road; Bridgetown Fire Department, 3980 Malone Road; Walls Area, 7181 Delta Bluffs Parkway; Eudora Community Park, 9133 W. Commerce; ACI Ingrams Mill Fire Department, 4735 Red Banks Road S.; Greenbrook Softball Complex, 740 Stowewood Drive; Ingrams Mill Community Center, 2283 Red Banks Road S.; and DeSoto County Environmental Services, 2339 Gwynn Road, the announcement said.
The county said accepted items include old furniture and mattresses, lumber, carpet, bricks, limbs and leaves, metal, plastic toys, fencing and general rubbish. Prohibited items include aerosols, all-purpose cleaners, antifreeze, batteries, tires, insecticides and herbicides, oil, paint and electronics, according to the notice.
The announcement said most prohibited materials can be dropped off during Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Landers Center southeast corner parking lot. The notice was issued by DeSoto County Government and listed Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams.
