DeSoto County Dream Center to ‘Double the Dream’ with GivingTuesday match, food truck rally
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — The DeSoto County Dream Center is launching its “Double the Dream” campaign this GivingTuesday, Dec. 2, offering a dollar-for-dollar match on all donations made throughout the day.
To encourage community engagement, the center will also host a “Dream & Dine Food Truck Rally” at its Southaven facility.
The “Double the Dream” theme means every contribution received before midnight on Dec. 2 will be matched, doubling the financial impact for the nonprofit’s programs, which support local children and families.
“Our mission is to meet needs, restore dignity, provide hope and healing,” said Jenna Kern, executive director of the DeSoto County Dream Center. “GivingTuesday reminds us that when our community comes together, small acts of generosity can double in impact by transforming lives across DeSoto County.”
The campaign kickoff is scheduled for 7 a.m. The community is invited to the Dream & Dine Food Truck Rally from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where guests can purchase lunch, tour the Dream Center, and meet staff.
The DeSoto County Dream Center focuses on providing education, healthcare, food and clothing support.
“When you give to the Dream Center and Trinity Health Center, you’re helping local families find hope and stability again and this GivingTuesday, your gift goes twice as far,” Kern said.
Terri Sparkman, who handles community and donor relations for the center, emphasized the collaborative nature of the event.
“We’re stronger together,” Sparkman said. “When faith, generosity, and community come together, lives change.”
Donations will be matched until midnight.
