County to begin Fall Cleanup Week on Saturday
Oct. 11, 2024 – DeSoto County officials are beginning their annual effort to help “tidy up the place” as Fall Cleanup Week begins on Saturday, Oct. 12. Supervisors proclaimed the week starting Saturday and continuing through Oct. 20 as Fall Cleanup Week. To help in the effort, supervisors earlier approved dumpsters being placed in locations throughout the county to deposit trash.
The dumpsters locations are as follows:
- ACI Fire Department – 4735 Red Banks Rd S.
- Bridgetown Fire Department – 3980 Malone Rd
- Cockrum Old Schoolhouse – 3960 Hwy 305 S.
- Eudora Park – 9133 W Commerce
- Fairhaven Fire Department – 13701 Center Hill Rd
- Greenbrook Softball Complex – 740 Stowewood Dr
- Hernando Middle School- 700 Dilworth Lane
- Horn Lake Middle School- 6125 Hurt Road
- Lewisburg Primary – 1707 Craft Road N.
- Love Fire Department – 7345 Highway 51 S.
- Nesbit Water Association – 901 Pleasant Hill Rd
- Robertson-Donald Park – 7369 Hwy 301 N.
- Summershill Fire Dept #1 – 7600 Pleasant Hill Rd
- Walls Area – 7181 Delta Bluffs Parkway
Here’s a list of the items that will be allowed in the dumpsters:
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Lumber
- Carpet
- Bricks
- Limbs
- Leaves
- Plastic Toys
- Fencing
- Rubbish
However, these items will not be allowed in dumpsters:
- Aerosols
- All-Purpose Cleaners
- Tires/ Batteries
- Anti-Freeze
- Oil/ Paint
- Electronics
- Insecticides
- Herbicides
