CFNM launches ‘Heart of Mississippi Gives’; $25,000 challenge gift doubles donations
HERNANDO, MS, — The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi (CFNM) has launched “The Heart of Mississippi Gives,” a new GivingTuesday initiative designed to unite regional donors and nonprofits. The campaign begins with a major boost: a $25,000 Challenge Gift pledged by John and Robin Cocke of Clarksdale.
This challenge means that every dollar donated to the CFNM Endowment from now through October 31st will be doubled, maximizing the impact of contributions. The endowment funds vital health, education, and youth programs across the 12 counties served by the foundation.
“The Heart of Mississippi Gives is about celebrating the generosity that lives in every community across our region,” said Colie Sanford, Development Committee Chair at CFNM. “Thanks to this incredible challenge gift, every donor has the chance to double their impact while ensuring we can serve our communities for generations to come.”
The campaign is structured with tiered milestones to encourage community participation:
- Tier 1 (Now – Oct 31): The initial $25,000 Challenge Gift for the CFNM Endowment. Reaching this goal unlocks the next tier.
- Tier 2 (Opens Nov 1): A $50,000 Community Challenge.
- Tier 3 (Opens Nov 18): A final challenge gift.
The “Early Giving” period is active now. The main community campaign will run from November 18th to December 2nd, culminating in GivingTuesday, a global day of charitable giving.
CFNM emphasizes that the campaign is a movement to strengthen the future of Northwest Mississippi, with philanthropic advisors ensuring every gift is impactful and lasting.
