Candidate filing opens July 21 for Mississippi school board and trustee posts
The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office said on its Y’all Vote webpage that July 21, 2026, is the first day candidates may file petitions and qualifying statements for several school district offices.
The office listed the affected posts as county school board; municipal separate school district trustee; special municipal separate school district trustee; and consolidated or consolidated-line school district trustee, the page says.
Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams posted an election alert noting the start of filings and directing voters to the Secretary of State’s Y’all Vote page, according to the message.
The Secretary of State’s Y’all Vote page provides information on upcoming elections, candidate qualifications, deadlines and other election resources, the office said. The page is available at https://www.sos.ms.gov/yall-vote.
