Byhalia man charged in Hernando shooting

HERNANDO, Miss. — A Byhalia man was arrested Thursday and charged with Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling in connection with a disturbance in Hernando’s Northwood Hills subdivision.

Dequavion Tae’jon Malik Lewis, age 20 of Byhalia, was booked into the DeSoto County Jail following the incident, which occurred early Wednesday morning, Oct. 9. His bond has been set at $150,000, according to police.

The Hernando Police Department, which was assisted by Olive Branch Police and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department in the apprehension, said the investigation is ongoing. Police stressed that this was an isolated incident.
