Business beat: Ribbon cuttings highlight week

Two local businesses were celebrated with ribbon cutting events this week in Southaven.  

Abbikadabbi’s Baking Company was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting event Wednesday afternoon at the store location at 6227 Snowden Lane, across from the Snowden Grove Soccer Complex. 

You earlier read the story here about Abbi Nichols and the business she started with her mother baking cookies. Nichols eventually chose to move the business from the dining room table and kitchen to a storefront when the Top of the ‘Sip development began. The store opened in December of last year.  

Nichols would also go on to be named the 2024 Small Business Administration’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Mississippi.

On Friday, a ribbon-cutting event celebrated Pediatric Dental Group & Orthodontics’ new Southaven location at 2915 Market Square Avenue, off Getwell Road. The office merges previous offices in Southaven and Olive Branch with groundbreaking held in August 2023.  

The new PDGO location joins others in the Mid-South providing dental care and orthodontics care to youngsters in a comfortable setting.
