Huey’s Restaurant Area Director Hollis Ranson says the Southaven restaurant recently underwent a renovation that helped give the eating establishment needed improvements while giving it a new “sparkle.”
Ranson, Area Director Alex Boggs, and others were joined by the Southaven Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new improvements on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Ranson said the Southaven restaurant has been a staple from its Malco Blvd. location for about 25 years, but he said it was in desperate need of a facelift.
“We redid the bathrooms, gave them a fresh coat of paint, put new lighting in the front of the house, and the dining room,” Ranson said. “We took everything off the walls, stripped them down and re-stained them and we shined the floors.”
The atmosphere of Huey’s remains but with a fresh look. However, Ranson said customers won’t see, but will be grateful for the renovations in the kitchen.
“We gave all the equipment a good detailing and we also had new floors behind the bar, as well, “Ranson said. “Finally, we just want to make sure that all of the little details, just the face-to-face looks like we’re bringing this Huey’s into the 21st century.”
The Southaven restaurant, part of a 10-location franchise in the Memphis-Mid-South area, was the first DeSoto County location and was joined two years ago by another Huey’s in Olive Branch. Ranson said plans were to open Olive Branch in late 2019 but those plans were delayed with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We were looking at Olive Branch for a long time,” Ranson said. “It’s been an amazing success, and again, we couldn’t do it all without the community.”
Huey’s Southaven is located at 7090 Malco Blvd. and you can learn more by visiting the Huey’s website.
