Bentley Black to Play J.M. Barrie in ‘Finding Neverland’ at Heindl Center

Bentley Black will play playwright J.M. Barrie in a regional production of the musical ‘Finding Neverland’ July 31-Aug. 2 at the Heindl Center in Senatobia, the announcement said.

The musical follows Barrie and the family that inspired him to create the story of Peter Pan and traces the development of modern children’s theater, the announcement said.

The announcement said Black currently serves as executive director of the Collierville Arts Council. It said his past Memphis stage roles include Frank Jr. in ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and Ren McCormack in ‘Footloose,’ and that he has appeared on the Amazon Prime series ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.’
