Apartment fire damages units at Olive Branch complex; no injuries reported

A large fire broke out in Building 32 at the Vineyard Apartments at 9400 Goodman Road in Olive Branch, Mississippi, about 4 p.m. on May 13, the Olive Branch Fire Department said. No residents or firefighters were injured, officials said.

A-shift crews responded with four fire engines, two ladder trucks, two ambulances, Battalion 1 and several command staff, the department said. Engine 1 made the initial attack while other apparatus provided water supply, a rapid intervention team, ventilation and search-and-rescue operations.

Using coordinated interior and exterior attacks, crews stopped the blaze from spreading and saved 12 units, the department said. Firefighters also rescued four dogs from affected units.

The cause and source of the fire are unknown and remain under investigation, officials said. The city of Olive Branch released the information in a statement signed by Mayor Ken Adams.
