The Olive Branch Police Department offered condolences to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department after Deputy Michael Jimerson was killed in the line of duty last night, the department said. The city identified Mayor Ken Adams in the statement and said Jimerson’s family and colleagues were in its thoughts and prayers.

Olive Branch Mayor and police thank Bishop Darrel Petties and The High Place for providing lunch to the community during Easter weekend.

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce said the Community Easter Egg Hunt and Photo Stop Trail is underway, with participating businesses offering festive displays, hidden eggs and a chance to win a grand prize for social posts.

Organizers announced the seventh annual Women in Business Luncheon, sponsored by Community Bank, and encouraged attendees to register online. They said the event will offer networking, food and business conversation.

Deputy Michael Jimerson was shot and killed Wednesday night while responding to a disturbance call, Sheriff John Ledbetter said. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said a female suspect also died after gunfire was exchanged.
