Olive Branch approved as a Network Main Street Community

Sep 23, 2024- The Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) Board of Directors has approved Olive Branch to move forward as an Association Network Member. Olive Branch was voted on for the step toward becoming a Designated Main Street Community, similar to Hernando’s status with the MMSA. The city joined Brandon and Magee as new network members.

“The MMSA Board also looks forward to working with Brandon, Magee, and Olive Branch as new Network Members,” said Chris Hinton, MMSA Board President. “During their time as Associate Members, we recognized their strong commitment to fostering growth and development, and we are now eager to build upon that foundation.”

Brandon Main Street, Magee Main Street, and Olive Branch Main Street will officially start the Network pathway in 2025. The Network level is the next level of membership after Associate membership and requires extensive benchmarks to be met before the program can apply to become a Designated Main Street Community.

The board also approved Pass Christian as a new Designated Main Street Community.  That official designation will take place in early 2025.

MMSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization and economic development of historic downtowns and traditional commercial districts across Mississippi. MMSA provides guidance, resources, and technical assistance to local Main Street programs throughout Mississippi.
