Two die in plane crash near Holly Springs airport
On Sunday, Jan. 18, a small plane crashed near the Holly Springs-Marshall County Airport in Holly Springs, Mississippi, resulting in two fatalities.
The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. in a wooded area south of the airport, specifically near the intersection of Bishop Road and Bicycle Road.
Current Details of the Incident
- Casualties: The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both individuals on board the aircraft were killed. Their names have not yet been released.
- Location: The wreckage was discovered south of the runway in a rural area of Marshall County.
- Response: Emergency services and the Sheriff’s Office secured the site quickly after reports of a downed aircraft.
- Investigation: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are expected to take over the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
